Guest Expert Weekend with Ellen Saltonstall

For yoga teachers, massage therapists and all those interested in anatomy:

Learn from renowned author and movement specialist, Ellen Saltonstall.

With yoga classes growing in size and including students of all ages and levels of fitness, teachers benefit from basic knowledge of common conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, and joint replacements.  This weekend will provide essential information about these conditions, as well as contraindications and guidelines for a safe and supportive practice.

Schedule:
Friday – 1:30pm to 8:30pm (30 minute break)
Saturday – 9:45am to 7:30pm (1 hour 30 minutes for lunch)
Sunday – 9:30am to 5:15pm (1 hour 30 minutes for lunch)

Each day will include many short sequences of practicum, and at least one asana practice.

Ellen Saltonstall (E-RYT 500) is a yoga instructor and body therapist based in New York with extensive training in the Iyengar and Anusara methods. She has been a practitioner of yoga and meditation for over 40 years. In addition to yoga, she developed and teaches Bodymind Ballwork, a method of self-massage using rubber balls. Ellen has authored three books: Yoga for Arthritis, 2008, and Yoga for Osteoporosis, 2010 with Dr. Loren Fishman, and her new book Anatomy & Yoga: A Guide for Teachers and Students, released in December 2016. She offers yoga therapy webinars through YogaOnlineU.com, and she teaches nationally and internationally with a specialty in anatomy and therapeutics.
