Thank you @yogakilkenny, I snagged this image from you. 💜
I have been meditating for 20 years now. It’s su I have been meditating for 20 years now. It’s such a part of my life I perhaps sometimes take for granted what a deep meditation adds. I do it every day though without hesitation because of what I experience directly - not only from the time in practice, but how it supports life. Fundamentally, Neelakantha Meditation adds to life - into all the challenges, into our personal stuff, a greater presence, spaciousness, inner fortitude, and transformative process. We become more fully who we have always been. More free and whole. More able to go with how life is unfolding from a deeper place.

When my students share with me how their life is changing it gives me so much affirmation and joy… Some benefits are instant. Some are slower, deeper, more subtle, and unfold over time. I am filled with gratitude for the gift of this practice, wishing all could avail themselves to a life full of support, dignity, strength, and sweetness.

I am so pleased to offer another Initiation into Neelakantha Meditation as taught in Blue Throat Yoga Jan 30 - 31. It’s a 2-day process with a 6-hour total time commitment. It is offered online through Zoom. Please reach out for more information and to schedule your time.

7-8 weeks post-op Last Weds I went to my PT sessi 7-8 weeks post-op

Last Weds I went to my PT session on my 7-week mark. We decided I could be discharged early as I was meeting all my goals and progressing quickly. And that I was highly motivated and knowledgeable to keep up the good work. We agreed I would come back after a month if I wasn’t continuing to make good progress. I enjoyed and was very supported by my time in PT, but am happy that I can now carry on.

This past Weds was 8-weeks post-op. Since my last post my body leaped very quickly into a more full range of motion, and less and less pain all the time in the hip capsule. I am now doing most poses and transitions, and feel that the yoga can now do what it does. Before when I had so many limitations I of course did what I could do. Now I can move through a practice and let the poses work to establish balance throughout my body and work out the kinks. There is so much unusual sensation in my left hip as I am getting moving again, but it feels healing. I do still have a lot of strengthening to do on the left side from core down (the PT said it should take about a month more to get there), and so I weave that in with my weekly yoga practices.

In this video I offer Wild Thing as a pose of celebration. Child’s Pose to show what is still in process with my hip. Siddhasana at the end, with gratitude.

Every day I am just so grateful. I have been going for walks again and my hip feels really good. On the first walk I attempted a couple weekends ago, this poem came to me:

Dear Body,
Thank you for your amazing capacity to heal
It would be miraculous if it weren’t so natural, even predictable
Like the flowers that bloom in the spring
And how an embryo grows in the womb
Just as the sun rises every morning
You always move towards wholeness
At times you need assistance...
Thank you Dr. Potts and team!
Thank you yoga and meditation!
PT and good nutrition!
But you, Dear Body, are supported by the very force of life
Miraculous, natural, predictable
Thank you for healing so well.

I feel so much grace and my heart overflows with gratitude. Thank you again for sharing this journey with me. I am truly new for this new year. Bring it on, 2021!

We may all look different from one another.
.
We may not even move our bodies in the same way.
.
But may we remember, we are all made of stars.

Last year I learned about adaptability and resilie Last year I learned about adaptability and resilience.
That all that I need is sourced infinitely within myself.
The power of trust, surrender, and healing.
That if you sit in the fire you will be transformed.
And that love always wins.

I also learned how absolutely fortunate I am. My heart goes out to those who were hit hard by 2020. Those who lost so much and are grieving. May we rebuild and keep evolving in ways that uphold the dignity of all, creating avenues of prosperity, equality, and health for all. May we come together - finally, fully, really.

As this New Year full of hope opens before us, I am wishing you all blessings of purpose, abundance, and joy.
